La tecnología educativa es el estudio y la práctica ética de facilitar el aprendizaje y mejorar el rendimiento mediante la creación, el uso y la gestión de procesos y recursos tecnológicos adecuados. Desde la perspectiva de la tecnología utilizada en la educación, la tecnología educativa podra entenderse como el uso de tecnologías emergentes y existentes para mejorar las experiencias de aprendizaje en una variedad de entornos educativos, como el aprendizaje formal, el aprendizaje informal, el aprendizaje no formal, el aprendizaje permanente, el aprendizaje. bajo demanda y aprendizaje justo a tiempo. Los enfoques de la tecnología educativa han evolucionado desde los primeros usos de las ayudas audiovisuales hasta las computadoras individuales y en red, y ahora han evolucionado para incluir varias tecnologías móviles e inteligentes, así como realidades virtuales y aumentadas, entornos inmersivos basados en avatar, computación en la nube y dispositivos portátiles y ubicación -conscientes de dispositivos. Se han utilizado varios términos en el camino para referirse a tecnologías educativas, como tecnologías / entornos de aprendizaje y tecnologías / sistemas de instrucción. Hemos adoptado una interpretación amplia en este libro para cubrir enfoques de diseño de instrucción, estrategias de aprendizaje y hardware y software.
